How I overcame Infertility

When I think about the years that I struggled with infertility, it makes me so much more grateful for the gift of being a mother. Motherhood is a gift from God, yet so many women are still struggling with this heart-wrenching nightmare. But there is hope, I found my hope and victory in God.

When my husband and I were first married, we decided to start a family right away. It took us a year to conceive, but that pregnancy ended in miscarriage at two months. We continued our efforts for the next year with no success. Of course I was praying, it just wasn't happening, and I refused to fall into the trap of thinking that because it wasn't happening, it wasn't Gods will for us to have children. That is not true because the Bible says that it is. { Psalm 127: 3-5} So we decided to seek medical advice.

It turned out that both my husband and I had some issues going on that was contributing to my infertility. After that first doctors appointment, we had to decide if we were going to move forward with treatments, or stand on Gods word. I did not want to deal with invasive surgeries and medications with horrible side effects, let alone the cost of it all. After much prayer and guidance from the Lord, we decided to stand on God's word.

For the next four years we dug into Gods word and took our stand. It was definitely rough and discouraging, sad and frustrating, there were a lot of tears, but God's word is true, and He is always faithful. I know that in those four years I must have taken about sixty or seventy pregnancy test that all came back negative. But we continued to stand.

Then one day, I decided to truly cast all the care of that situation over on God and leave it there, once and for all. Three months later, I was pregnant. After five years and countless negative pregnancy tests, I was finally pregnant! And I know, that it was One hundred percent God. He healed our bodies of whatever it was that was hindering us from conceiving. Four months after my son was born, I became pregnant with our daughter. Back to back pregnancies! God is faithful to us and He cannot lie!
